The season opener! Since opening in 1964, a cornerstone of the
VCM’s success has been its talented and world-renowned faculty.
This concert features the progenies of this tutelage. A tribute to
the original “Trio Victoria”, whose members – Robin Wood,
Sydney Humphreys, and James Hunter – formed one of the main
pillars of the then Victoria Music School, is provided by pianist
Robert Holliston, violinist Marc Destrubé, and cellist Joyce
Ellwood, all former students of the original Trio. This is followed
with performances by renowned soloists Jonathan Crow, violin
and May Ling Kwok, piano, and then on to opera duets and solo
arias by singers Richard Margison, Ingrid Attrot, Benjamin
Butterfield, and Eve-Lyn de la Haye. A surprise grand finale will
bring the evening to a triumphant close!
