Department Head: Dr. Johanne Brodeur

Dr. Johanne Brodeur, Ph.D, MTA, holds a Doctorate in Health Science, Music, and Music Therapy and is an accredited music therapist in Canada. She is the Head of the VCM Music Therapy Department and also the Head of the Children’s Music Department. Dr. Brodeur has been a clinician specializing in paediatric music therapy for over 25 years. She served as the President for the Canadian Association for Music Therapy for 6 years. She has lectured internationally, is a published author and has served on numerous regional, national, and international music, music therapy, and health associations’ Boards of Directors. Dr. Brodeur is the recipient of the two most prestigious Canadian music therapy awards: the Franni Award and the Norma Sharpe Award.
Dr. Brodeur also teaches our popular Families Making Music classes for Babies to 5 yrs in both English and en Francais.
