Our String Department has instruction and programming for students of all abilities. We have a rich resource of dedicated faculty in the disciplines of violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar (classical, steel string and electric), harp, historical instruments and folk fiddling.
We offer comprehensive programming for those who wish to pursue music in a variety of in-depth settings. In addition to high-level private instruction and introductory group classes, three levels of string orchestra ensure a place for students of every level. We also arrange chamber music opportunities for students of similar ability levels.
These four aspects of instruction, when combined with our many performance opportunities as well as additional VCM classes, allow students of any age the well-rounded and enriching experiences that studying on a string instrument can offer.
