Gordon Clements, Head of Jazz Studies
Students may undertake jazz studies with a focus on an instrument of their choosing, subject to availability of an instructor in that instrument. Students also study jazz theory and language, musicianship, jazz history, and participate in ensembles.
Upon completion of the Diploma in Jazz Studies, graduates are well prepared to continue post-secondary studies at other institutions.
College credit is granted only to the full-time Jazz majors. If a non-Diploma student enters the Jazz major at a later date, these courses may be transferred to his/her college record providing that all exams and assignments were completed satisfactorily.
Applicants must consult the Registrar of Post-Secondary Programs before registering for any of these courses. 250.386.5311 ext 2360 post-secondaryregistrar@vcm.bc.ca
