Sharonne has taught at the Victoria Conservatory since 2009. A graduate of the Victoria Conservatory/Camosun College and the University of Victoria, she holds an AVCM in Vocal Pedagogy and very much enjoys both performing and teaching.
She teaches students of all ages, with a focus on healthy technique that is grounded in classical training, while applicable to multiple styles. Sharonne has studied with Ingrid Attrot, as well as with Eve-Lyn de la Haye, Erinn Roberts, Deborah Millar, and Evelyn Tubb. In the academic arena, Sharonne is interested in the social dimensions of music. She has conducted research and published on the subject of community choir participation and social cohesion, investigating the role of cooperative musical activities as accessible tools of learning, sharing, bonding, and community building. She is currently working on a Masters degree in music and anthropology.
