*New Sponsorship Opportunity: VCM Presents: Conservatory Concert Series
The Conservatory also welcomes the support of those who volunteer their services, attend Conservatory events and concerts, or provide sponsorship in return for advertising value. Your involvement and encouragement of our programs, students, and performers is greatly appreciated. When you simply come to a concert, you are helping the Conservatory financially, and you are supporting the performers with your applause.
In addition to our ongoing faculty and student performances, we present special fundraising events. When you attend one of these, you will enjoy an unforgettable experience while knowing you are making a difference. Fundraising events include the Conservatory Garden Tour, held each spring for the past 23 years, and the Do-Re-Mi Golf Tournament, which celebrated its 14th year in 2008. Fundraising performances over the years have included concerts with such luminaries as Anton Kuerti, Pepe Romero, Richard Margison, and Pinchas Zukerman and the National Arts Centre Orchestra.
Become a Sponsor
Sponsorships and partnerships with businesses can result in solid benefits for both parties. By providing funding or sharing skills, services, or products, your business can make a tangible difference to the Conservatory, its students, and the greater community. At the same time, you enhance your company profile and demonstrate your community involvement and leadership to both the workplace and the marketplace.
An individual or company that donates services is not eligible for a charitable receipt. CRA stipulates that, to qualify for a donation receipt, a gift must involve property. Contributions of services (that is, time, skills, effort) are not property and do not qualify. There is nothing to prohibit a charity from paying for services and later accepting the return of all or a portion of the payment as a gift, if it is returned voluntarily. However, the donor must report the payment as taxable income or business income.
