HILDA KING THEORY AWARDS
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING VCM THEORY STUDENTS!
The Victoria Branch of the BC Registered Music Teachers has awarded the 2016 Hilda King Theory Awards to Kiani Brownridge and Isobel Glover for receiving the highest marks on their RCM Harmony examinations.
Kiani Brownridge received the award for the highest mark for Grade 9 Harmony. Kiani wrote both the Grade 9 Harmony and Grade 9 History examination during the RCM August examination session after attending the VCM Summer Academy in July. Kiani received a First Class Honours with Distinction standing for Grade 9 Theory and will be writing her grade 10 Harmony examination in May! Kiani studies Harmony with Crystal Wiksyk, History with Robert Holliston and Piano with Michael Drislane. Kiani will be attending the VCM Summer Academy again this year and plans to study advanced Theory and Composition with Stephen Brown in the near future.
Isobel Glover received the award for the highest mark for Grade10 Harmony. Isobel studied grade 9 and 10 Harmony with Crystal Wiksyk, History 9 and 10 with Robert Holliston and studies Violin with Barb McDougall. Isobel received a First Class Honours with Distinction standing for Grade 10 Theory! Isobel has graduated and is currently studying Physics at the University of Victoria where she plays in the University of Victoria Orchestra.
