Adult Recorder Group

Program Outline

Adult Recorder Group – Learn Recorder!

Have you ever wanted to learn a wind instrument but aren’t sure where to start?  The recorder is an excellent beginner instrument because it’s easy, inexpensive and sounds great in an ensemble.  Once you learn the basics in this course, you can progress to more recorder ensemble playing or transition to another wind instrument.  Come and learn to play recorder in a relaxed, social environment with other adults, learn to read music and play easy songs and rounds.

Adult Recorder Group – Enter into Ensembles!

For students who have taken the “Learn Recorder!” class or have a very basic knowledge of the recorder, this class will work into more advanced pieces and explore the other recorder instruments, starting with F recorders.  This is a great introduction to playing in a recorder consort (chamber ensemble) in a relaxed, fun group environment.  Participants should be able to play a five-note scale (G-D) on the soprano recorder and be able to recognize those notes on the staff.
