Office Hours:
Monday to Friday: 9:00 am to 8:00 pm
Saturdays: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Sundays: 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Individual Lessons

Students have one lesson per week for 36 weeks (two terms) from September to May (unless alternate arrangements are made directly with the instructor). Students may begin individual lessons at any time during the academic year.

Students will be referred to an appropriate instructor based on:

  • musical background
  • goals
  • availability of lessons
  • fee options

To begin individual lessons, please fill out the referral form and contact the VCM to facilitate the referral process. Students can also inquire about lessons with a specific instructor, though the VCM cannot guarantee that students will be able to study with that instructor. Once an instructor is assigned, the instructor will contact the student/parent to make arrangements for lessons.

If you or your child plans to register for individual lessons for the first time, you may pay for an individual lesson with no obligation to register for more classes. In the event that a trial lesson needs to be canceled, 24 hours notice must be given in order to receive a refund.

Group Classes

Participating in group classes at the VCM is a great way to gain musical experience in a fun and supportive environment. Our group classes offer students a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends, play great music and learn from amazing instructors! These group experiences add to the richness of music education through sharing it with others – and participating is really just plain fun!

Most group classes are full-year courses that run for 32 or 34 weeks (two terms) from September to May. Students in group classes begin their studies in September.
Classes fill up quickly – please register no later than one week prior to the start date.  If space permits and if the instructor agrees, a student may join a class already in progress.
Some courses may require an application, interview, placement test, or audition as indicated in our Course Calendar. Please call the VCM for more information.

Prospective students also may audit one group class session per semester before committing to the remaining classes.
