Join us this summer for Canada’s premier Baroque vocal program. Our 2014 courses are comprised of an intensive program of lessons, coachings, masterclasses and rehearsals for singers, focususing specifically on Baroque performance practice. Receive expert guidance from leading early music specialists, culminating in chamber music concerts and the finale full performance of Handel’s Athalia with members of the Victoria Symphony.

Advanced Oratorio Program $1260
Oratorio performances are an important part of many careers. Through private lessons, masterclasses, rehearsals and performances, this course provides emerging professionals and advanced students (ages 20+) with comprehensive training in all aspects of Baroque style. In addition to preparing the solo and ensemble arias from Athalia, repertoire will also include songs, cantatas and other Baroque pieces. Program runs 10:00am-5:00pm daily. Acceptance is by interview; short-listed applicants will be asked to submit a good-quality audition recording.
Junior/Intermediate Program $710
An introduction to oratorio and Baroque style for younger singers through lessons, masterclasses and coachings. Course includes participation in the choral program. For singers ages 14+. Acceptance is by interview; short-listed applicants will be asked to submit a good-quality audition recording.
Adult Soloist Program $710
Designed for amateur adult singers (and teachers) wishing to improve their technique and to sing Baroque music more confidently. Course includes participation in the choral program. An audition is not required, but submission of a vocal CV is requested to ensure appropriate placement.
Choral Program $80
A rare opportunity to sing one of the great Baroque oratorios with a professional orchestra. Weekend and evening rehearsals only. An audition is not required, but submission of a vocal CV is requested to ensure appropriate placement.
New! Choral Workshop $90
“Celebration: SATB Handel!”
A two-day workshop open to members of the choral and adult soloist programs and to members of the public celebrating Handel’s brilliant writing for SATB chorus. The course features full-choir skill-building sessions on Handel’s ‘SATB top three’: rhythm, text setting, and locomotion.
