VCM’s Steinway Grand Piano Revitalization Fundraising ConcertThe Victoria Conservatory of Music’s 1965 Steinway Grand was brought to Victoria by Robin Wood, having been purchased in Germany the same year and transported via the Panama Canal. It has served the VCM’s many generations of students and faculty, and well-known visiting artists.
One of our most treasured instruments, the Steinway has been with us from the very beginning and is still going strong. However, after 54 years of service it is now in need of critical refurbishment to keep it at the level required for concert performance.
Please join VCM students, faculty, and friends of Robin & Winifred Wood for a benefit concert to help us raise $20,000 to make urgent repairs to our beloved Steinway. Over $4,500 is pledged and we need help to raise more.
A unique opportunity to hear the story of the VCM Steinway and a wonderful afternoon of music hosted by Robert Holliston, Head of Keyboard at the VCM.
