Nataliia Temnyk

Ukrainian soprano, Nataliia Temnyk joined the faculty of the Victoria Conservatory of Music in the fall of 2023. She holds a PhD Advanced Diploma (Honours) from the A.V. Nezhdanova National Academy of Music in Odesa Ukraine. During her years at the Academy, Nataliia acted as a teaching assistant coaching young singers in the program as well as professional singers from all over Ukraine. She was a voice and ensemble teacher at the Tetyana Boeva Music School of Odessa and a conductor and vocal coach for the Renaissance Choir at Glinka Music College in Kryvih Rih.

In 2019, Nataliia received 3rd place and the audience prize in the prestigious competition held by the Wagner Singing Society at Wigmore Hall in London. Other awards include 2nd place in the 10th International Sabin V. Dragoi Voice Competition, Roumania, (2017), a Diploma of Honour at the 3rd International Christmas Singing Competition, Belarus (2016), and Grand Prize in the 2nd Sun Country International Competition, Odesa Ukraine (2013).

Between 2019-2023, Nataliia was a member of Opera Viva in England performing numerous concerts as a soloist and chorister. Known for dramatic and moving performances, “Nataliia Temnyk has a sublime voice. ‘Elsa’s Dream’ (Lohengrin) was superbly executed but it was the singing of Verdi’s ‘Ave Maria’ (Othello) that brought the house down (ARTMUSELONDON 2019).

Nataliia’s introduction to Canada came in 2022 when she was invited by Queen’s University in Kingston to be guest of honour at the We Stand for Ukraine benefit concert involving over 100 musicians in solidarity for Ukraine. She gave a master class for voice students and performed several other concerts.

Nataliia is a warm and generous teacher who loves to work with any level of singer wanting to gain from her expertise in vocal production and performance.
