Fiddle in the holidays with Daniel Lapp and special guests!
Victoria—The Victoria Conservatory of Music (VCM) is proud to present Daniel Lapp’s annual Home for Christmas concert for its thirteenth year. The famed fiddler & trumpeter, along with Canadian jazz and blues singer Maureen Washington and many other guests, return to Alix Goolden Performance Hall for three special concerts this December 16 & 17 and tickets are now on sale.
“One of the many things I love about this concert is the incredible electric atmosphere when 175 spirited community & professional musicians all share the stage together” says Daniel Lapp, a legendary force in Canada’s fiddle scene and a musical mentor to hundreds of students. “The energy in the room is magical and the concert has become, for many, the moment that kickstarts the holiday season.”
Home for Christmas performers include numerous local music legends who are part of The Shiny H’ornaments, The Swingin’ Shepherds, Strings of Lights and dozens of Daniel’s students in Joy of Life Choir, Folkestra and BC Fiddle Orchestra.
“It’s a wonderful show full of Christmas spirit and community,” says Jane Butler McGregor, VCM’s CEO.
The concert takes place at the VCM’s Alix Goolden Performance Hall, an elegant 800-seat venue at 907 Pandora Ave referred to as “a jewel box of a building,” by performer Emmylou Harris.
All three concerts are suitable for all ages and take place Friday, December 16 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, December 17, at 2:00 p.m. (matinee) and 7:30 p.m.
Tickets from $15.35 to $26.00
