Join renowned BC master fiddler Daniel Lapp and guests for an inspiring and educational journey through the history of folk music. Through music and stories, the audience will be transported through time and across the world.
“The concert will feature traditional and contemporary fiddle music presented in an orchestrated, chamber music context. Early ‘classical’ music was essentially ‘folk’ music played in an organized fashion and often performed with dancers” said Lapp. “Our concert will embrace the essence of this earlier genre and up to the current west coast kitchen party celebration that we have come to love fiddle music for.”
Guests include VCM Contemporary Folk cellists Rachel Capon and Eli Bender, and fiddler / Rhythm Tap Dancer / Ottawa Valley Stepdancer Stephanie Cadman.
