The Victoria Conservatory of Music mourns the passing of John Goudy, community leader and former Chair of our Board of Governors (1996-1999).
Mr. Goudy’s leadership carried the Conservatory through a period of visionary change that set the stage for the following 25 years. He immersed himself in the operations of the Victoria Conservatory as Board Chair and steadied the organization through the massive task of repurposing the former Metropolitan Church to become the new home of the music school.
Mr. Goudy remained a close friend of the Conservatory long past his tenure, supporting the organization with generosity, constancy, and sage advice. John and his wife Gabrielle never missed an opportunity to support the Conservatory’s students and share in the joy of music.
Every student who passes through our halls at 900 Johnson Street will carry on his legacy. Our deepest condolences go out to Gabrielle and the rest of the Goudy family.
