This class offers the young student who has been playing a string instrument for over a year both the technical benefits of a group class and ensemble learning. It is the perfect complement to private studio instruction, and a continuation of the social learning of a Suzuki Group Class, or other early childhood group classes.
The class will be in the style of a group lesson; with a focus on sight-reading, technique, and polyphonic (multiple voiced) music making, ending in a performance at the end of term, and the possibility of performing in the Junior category of the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival. Students are encouraged to be taking private lessons, play at a minimum of Grade 1 level RCM, and be starting to read music.
