Support from our community of donors, corporations and government agencies makes up 30% (approximately $1.3M) of our overall operating revenue. This keeps tuition as affordable as possible for all students and makes music outreach and music therapy programs possible. Simply put, we would not exist without your support.
It takes a community to meet the funding needs of the VCM every year.
Together we can ensure the essence of what we offer continues to keep music education, music therapy, and music performance alive and thriving in this community. Individuals are at the heart of our annual fundraising and this year our goal is to raise $250,000 to meet our operating and value added funding needs. Give straight to the heart of music by donating now!
Your perspective is important! Please contact Judi James, Manager, Donor Relations at firstname.lastname@example.org to talk about our priority needs and how you can help keep the music playing at the VCM.
BECAUSE OF YOU…
Your donations provide essential support to some of our core operational expenses.
Here are just a few of the costs we must meet each year to keep the VCM humming:

|have access to the developmental benefits of music education.|
|•||$24,000 a year for our Children’s Music Outreach to bring music lessons into the elementary schools, reaching over 300 school children|
|living in marginalized communities.|
|•||$30,000 a year for piano tuning and instrument upkeep of our 72 pianos, 4 harpsichords, 10 digital pianos, 121 portable keyboards|
|and 3 organs (one of which is a 1910 Casavant organ in our Alix Goolden Performance Hall).|
|•||$15,000 a year to bring in master musicians to enhance the learning experience for our students providing them with the best|
|•||$50,000 a year for our Music Therapy program to restore, maintain, and improve mental, physical, and emotional health for over 1,900|
|individuals, from babies to seniors, every week.|
|•||$50,000 a year for our Music Library to ensure that over 70,000 titles are maintained and accessible to the community. This year we have|
|an added cost of $35,000 for new shelving to relocate our library back into our facility as high rents forced us to move.|
|•||$10,000 a year to provide recital and performance opportunities for students to ready them for auditions and professional engagements.|
|•||$40,000 a year for our Young Artists program to provide an enriched learning experience for our talented teenage students while keeping|
|•||$18,000 a year for maintenance and repairs to our heritage location including the award-winning Alix Goolden Performance Hall,|
|classrooms, studios, and student practice rooms.|
