Tech Teacher of the Year Award

The VCM congratulates our faculty member Linda Gould
on this most impressive award!

Victoria piano teacher Linda Gould was announced as the winner of the 2015 Tech Teacher of the Year Award at the recent national conference of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers held in Richmond, B.C. The national competition is held every two years and awarded to the Canadian music teacher who demonstrates the most creative use of music technology in the teaching studio.  Gould, who is the author of the popular adult method  “Play Piano Chords Today”, makes use of digital keyboards, tablets, and computers to demonstrate, teach, and record her students using a variety of music apps.

Besides teaching at her studio in Oak Bay, classes are taught at the Victoria Conservatory of Music and Taber Music School.  She also performs as a solo pianist and with her husband and musical partner, Dave Paulson.
The competition is sponsored by Conservatory Canada, Roland Canada, and Music for Young Children.
