VCM Music Library is now open!

COVID-19 Update! The VCM Music Library is now open!

Hours are 10am to 6pm on Monday to Friday.



To keep everyone safe, we’ve established some new rules for visiting the VCM Music Library:

  • Masks are now mandatory
  • There is a maximum of 3 people in the library
  • Plan ahead! If you know what you are looking for, email Librarian Robin Belcher at so she can set it aside for you. If you don’t have a practice space, lessons, or bookings at the VCM, she will arrange for a scheduled pick up from the front of the building.
  • Additionally, appointments can be arranged via email at

VCM Music Library



The VCM Music Library has over 60,000 titles for the use of faculty, registered students, and the general public. Resources include music for all instruments, reference materials and books on music, including biographies, theory and history. The VCM Library sheet music collection includes 30,000 resources related to:

  • Double Bass
  • Flute
  • Oboe
  • Clarinet
  • Bassoon
  • Horn
  • Trumpet and Cornet
  • Trombone

  • Ensembles (Duos, Trios, Quartets, Quintets, Sextets, Septets, Octets)

  • Full scores and study scores
  • Canadian Music Centre collection
  • Christmas music, carols and songs


The VCM library is located at 900 Johnson Street, in room 113.

Library hours are 10:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, however please see posted notices or contact the VCM reception desk (250.386.5311) for unexpected closures.
