Practice Rooms
Practice rooms are available to:
Current students registered for ongoing sessions (lessons or classes). This is defined as:
- “ongoing” is defined as, at least 5 sessions, no fewer than one session per month
- if first session date has not happened, you are not yet a current student
- if last session date has passed, you are no longer a current student
One person per room, one booking/timeslot maximum per day. Please do not show up early.
The Victoria Conservatory of Music does not offer (or rent out) practice rooms to non-Conservatory students.
How to Book a Practice Room
Victoria
Practice rooms must be booked through the Front Desk in advance, on the day prior; you cannot book more than one business day ahead.
Note: The Front Desk is closed on Sundays, so book on Saturday for Monday.

Langford
Practice rooms are available on a first-come first-serve basis to currently registered students. Priority is always given to Instructors who are teaching so if you are coming to Langford for this reason only, we recommend you phone ahead to confirm a room is available.

FAQ’s – Victoria Practice Rooms
How many practice rooms are there?
The number of rooms vary from day to day. Approximately 5 to 9 rooms each day, including weekends.
What are practice rooms equipped for?
All studios have a piano, many have mirrors (for Cellists), stools, chairs, music stands and tables.
Are there better rooms than others based on my instrument?
There are 3 grand pianos for pianists, and other rooms are well suited to voice or string students. Students playing other instruments will do well in any room.
Are practice rooms available on Stat holidays?
There are no practice rooms available on stat holidays as the Victoria Conservatory of Music is closed.

FAQ’s – Langford Practice Rooms
How many practice rooms are there?
There is one practice room available each day at our Langford location.
What are practice rooms equipped for?
All studios have an upright piano, mirror, chair and music stand, students of any instrument are able to practice in these rooms. There are no grand pianos available for practice at our Langford location.
Are there better rooms than others based on my instrument?
No, although students do have preferences!
Are practice rooms available on Stat holidays?
There are no practice rooms available on stat holidays as the Victoria Conservatory of Music is closed.

Please Note
- No rooms are given to drop-ins
- Practice rooms are for active practicing only; no food/drink, sleeping, reading, electronic device usage, or other activities unrelated to practicing. Violation will result in being asked to leave and suspension of future practice room usage.
- The Conservatory has a limited number of practice rooms for student use. Remember that practice rooms are not just for students – they are also used for teaching.
- Treat the pianos in the practice rooms with respect. Do not put food on top of them or have drinks near them.
- Keys must be returned after each practice session. If you give them to someone else or take them home or lose them:
- Your practice room privileges may be suspended the very next day.
- If it is not returned within 24 hours, you may be charged the fee.
