Music Technology and Creativity
Offering a wide variety of classes, workshops, and lessons that allow for all members of our community to explore, express, and grow their creativity. Faculty includes artist-educators who are actively innovating throughout all genres of musical expression, including composition, arranging, sound art, electronic music, songwriting, and more.
About
Building and expanding on a solid foundation of traditional educational approaches that have inspired Victoria Conservatory of Music students for over 50 years, the School of Music Technology and Creativity offers innovative and engaging programming that inspires students to discover and explore their own creative voices. All students—regardless of age, ability, or background—looking for guidance in music recording and production, digital notation, virtual instruments and sequencing, composition, songwriting, arranging, or music theory, will find open and encouraging instructors with experience working across genres and styles. This is the place to play, explore, and discover new creative possibilities.

- Music Technology classes, including Digital Notation, Digital Audio Workstation, Sequencing, and Virtual Instruments

Music Technology Lab
Our cutting-edge Music Technology Lab and Recording & Production Listening and Control offers classes, workshops, and lessons to develop skills in a wide range of software. These include Digital Notation (Finale, Sibelius), Sequencing (Ableton, Reaper, Cycling ’74 Max 7) , Digital Audio Workstation (Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Digital Performer), Live Streaming (WireCast), Music Video Production (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro), the use of electronic and virtual sound – microphone placement, audio interface, mixing, editing, and mastering.

Special Awards: Recording and Production Project Award
Supporting current Conservatory students, developing as emerging music artists, who aspire to record themselves and/or other emerging music artists, through a personal or collaborative creative and entrepreneurial project.
