Voice

“Helping people to sing their very best is what we do! Our superb faculty and a wide range of programs for kids, teens, adults and professional singers creates a dynamic and exciting department. Come and join us!”

~ Ingrid Attrot

Built on the love and expertise of one of Canada’s most celebrated opera singers, Selena James, the VCM’s Voice Faculty Department continues to thrive and offer top quality training to students of all ages, including highly advanced studies for emerging artists.

All voice students registered at the VCM are encouraged to participate in the following additional activities:

  • Voice competitions
  • Masterclasses
  • Serenata Concert
  • Canada Music Week concerts

Voice Masterclasses

Masterclasses are open to all VCM voice students and will be held four times throughout the year.

Voice Masterclasses within the Department of Postsecondary Studies

These advanced masterclasses are open to all students enrolled in the Diploma in Music Performance Program, Self-Directed Postsecondary Studies, Opera Studio, and/or the Advanced Voice Workshop.

We are so very thankful for the 14 years of dedicated leadership that Ingrid Attrot has provided during her tenure as Head of the Voice Department.  Ingrid continues with us as a highly esteemed member of our Voice Faculty.

As we continue our search for a new Dept Head, Dean Green has stepped in to chair the department and its programs, in consultation with Ingrid, and with the Voice Faculty. Please contact the Dean’s Office for more information.
