Entry for this event is at The Victoria Conservatory of Music entrance at 900 Johnson Street.
The VCM’s School for Music Technology & Creativity is thrilled to be collaborating with Garden City Electronic Music Society (GCEMS) to co-present this year’s NEUZTEC FESTIVAL. Now in its 7th year, GCEMS NEUZTEC is a two-day celebration of electronic music.
DAY ONE: Nov 19 (Saturday), 2:00 to 9:30 pm
Electronic Music presentations and performances by 15 local artists, including three SMTC faculty members. View the schedule here.
Location: WOOD HALL, enter through VCM’s 900 Johnson St. entrance.

DAY TWO: Nov 20 (Sunday), 11 am to 3 pm
Three exciting workshops are offered, including two led by SMTC faculty members.
- 11:30 am – 1:30 pm; DIY PlayTronic Workshop with Nathan Jonson.

This is a drop-in hands-on DIY electronic instrument building workshop for children and youth.
All materials provided.
- 1:30 – 2:45 pm; Live Coding Synthesizer Sonic Pi! with Marco Neri.

This hands-on workshop features learning about the live coding synthesizer Sonic Pi!
Workstations provided.

NOTE: For the above workshops, participants gather in Wood Hall to register and then proceed to the VCM’s Music Technology and Creativity Lab.
- 12:00 – 3:00 pm; Garden City ShadowBox Synth Build Workshop
Admission: $50 (includes purchase of the ShadowBox Synth kit).
This hands-on workshop is for beginner to advanced builders, and features the ShadowBox Synth, a special device that interacts with lights and shadows to create sound.
NOTE: Participants pay for this workshop at the Garden City table in Wood Hall.
