The Louis Sherman Concerto Competition Winner has been announced!
Layla Park (violin)Layla Park is in her second year as a member of the Collegium and her third with Greater Victoria Youth Orchestra.
Layla has won numerous awards and scholarships from Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival and the Victoria Conservatory of Music. In her spare time, Layla learns archery and enjoys reading and swimming.

What is the is Louis Sherman Concerto Competition?Each year, the Victoria Chamber Orchestra sponsors a concerto competition for young string players in honour of violinist Louis Sherman (1907-1999). The competition is open to all students of bowed instruments, age 18 years or younger as of January 1, 2022, who live on Vancouver Island or the Gulf Islands. Previous first prize winners are ineligible.
