Versatile Space

Located at 1411 Quadra Street, at the corner of Johnson and Quadra, Greenhouse is a newly updated performance, learning, and event venue at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Home to student classes, performances, and community programming, this versatile hall also welcomes venue rentals, independent arts presentations, live music performances, and special events, accommodating up to 185 guests.

Thoughtfully refreshed while preserving its character, Greenhouse features beautifully restored original wood floors dating to the 1950s, modern amenities, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Inspired by its name, the space reflects the Victoria Conservatory of Music’s commitment to nurturing artistic growth and creating opportunities for connection, discovery, and expression.

Whether gathering for a class, a performance, or community event, Greenhouse supports artists at every stage of their journey. It is a place where talent is nurtured, audiences gather, and creativity takes root and flourishes.

Seating
  • Capacity: 180, general seating.
  • Fold down theatre seats.
  • The front row of seats can be removed to provide extra staging space or accessible seating for mobility aid users (please request in advance if possible).
Stage and Floor Space
  • Full Area: 51’W x 37’D.
  • Stage Area: 37’W x 25’D.
  • Grid Height: 18′.
  • Floor: Light coloured wood.
  • Drapes: Black velour mounted on tracks, includes 6′ wing space and upstage traveller.
  • Windows have blackout shades.
Sound and Lighting
  • LED lighting rig with 9 area tops and a front wash with RGBL colour range.
  • Basic audio system for playback and amplification. Monitors and subs included. (Detailed technical specifications available upon request)
