Summer Intensive Program: Strings reBoot
August 26 – 30, 2024
This unique and exciting end of summer program is designed for the string student who wishes to get a jump start on the new term starting in September. This program will also appeal to the string student who may have spent the summer playing in orchestral or chamber music festivals, and now wishes to practice solo repertoire, orchestral excerpts, and technique. By the end of the week, students at VCM Strings reBoot camp will be energized and in great playing shape for the new term.
reBoot Camp features:
- Technique classes that cover all scales and arpeggios, 2, 3 and 4 octaves, and all double stop scales
- Etude classes
- Excerpt classes
- One on one lessons on repertoire
- A mock audition for the Greater Victoria Youth Orchestra or your university orchestra
Participants will have individual lessons, group technique classes, performance opportunities at the end of the week, and most importantly, time and space to practice.

Fees and Deadlines
1 week (August 26-30) | $394 + $32 application fee
Some bursary assistance will be available. Applicants must comply with all deadlines and requirements. Late applicants will not be considered for financial assistance.
Bursary application deadline: August 1, 2024.
Dates and Daily Schedule
Program runs August 26-30.
Classes run daily 9:00am-1:00pm, with the option to stay for unsupervised practice time from 1:00-4:00pm. Each student will be assigned their own practice room.
Location
All programs will take place onsite at the Victoria Conservatory of Music (900 Johnson Street) in downtown Victoria. There are many cafes, restaurants, and grocery stores within walking distance.
