Are you an adult singer or pianist looking to develop your skills and explore the world of cabaret performance? Join us for the Cabaret Summer Intensive, a week-long, non-auditioned program at the Victoria Conservatory of Music from July 21-26, 2025. This exciting program is designed for vocalists interested in cabaret, musical theatre, and crossover repertoire, as well as pianists eager to collaborate with singers in a dynamic and immersive setting.
This program is open to adult singers and pianists of all backgrounds. While some vocal training and performance experience is beneficial, no audition is required for singers. Singers will be paired with a pianist, or a professional collaborative pianist will be provided.
What to Expect
This intensive offers a unique opportunity to work with experienced faculty in a supportive and engaging environment. Throughout the week, participants will receive:
- Daily masterclasses with expert faculty
- One-on-one vocal or piano coaching
- Acting and performance workshops
- Collaboration with singers and pianists
- A final performance to showcase what you’ve learned
2025 Theme: Post-War Cabaret
This year, we dive into the vibrant cabaret scenes of New York, Los Angeles, London, and Paris from the 1940s to the 1960s. Explore the jazz standards of early musical theatre, comedic and parody songs, the Golden Age of Broadway, and the storytelling music of icons like Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, and Kurt Weill.
