A discussion of music and its roles in death rituals

Are you curious about the role of music in rituals of death and dying? Music is an evocative medium that is used cross-culturally to care for the ancestors, channel the grief of the living, and ponder our mortality and place in the world.

Join us for a discussion and sharing of music and the expressions of music from around the world used in the rites and experiences of death, dying and remembrance. Hosted by Nicole Kilburn, Program Leader, Archaeology Field Assistant and Instructor of Anthropology at Camosun College and David Visentin, Associate Dean of Postsecondary Studies (Victoria Conservatory of Music).
