Summer Intensive Program: Guitar Downtown

July 26-28, 2024

The Conservatory is happy to announce an expansion of the Guitar Summer Intensive Program (SIP) with an additional three-day event to be held at the Downtown location. Led by Conservatory faculty, and taking place from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, this program will be fantastic for all levels of guitarists who want to dedicate a long weekend to their craft. Our faculty will be able to teach all levels of student guitarists, from the absolute beginner to advanced students, emphasizing the development of technique and musicianship while cultivating avenues for musical creativity. Participants will take part in technique classes, masterclasses, chamber ensembles, as well as one-on-one individual lessons. Pending enrolment, the three-day SIP may also offer a guitar orchestra.

Recommended for students 10 years and up; younger students may be considered if recommended by faculty or their private teacher.

Full Program: $255 + $32 non-refundable application fee

Some bursary assistance may be available. Applicants must comply with all deadlines and requirements. Late applicants will not be considered for financial assistance.

This program will take place onsite at the Victoria Conservatory of Music (900 Johnson Street) in downtown Victoria. There are many cafes, restaurants, and grocery stores within walking distance.
